Here’s the main reason, why I was not posting in a couple of days… I got my hands on a…priceless treasure! Yes, thats exactly what it is. A photo album of Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, released in 1972! I of course couldnt let it go like that, so i had to have it… And here it is! Complete with over 70 color pictures, shot off a helicopter, in the end of the 1960’s – beginning of the 1970’s in Baku. Since then most of the capital has changed, of course. Back then there was less of everything – cars, constructions, buildings.
Why is this priceless? Because for the youngsters its a perfect way to see what their city looked like decades ago, a city they never knew, never saw, never really heard of. Old timers can allow themselves a few grins, as they were probably growing up, this kind of Baku was what they probably remember. For each and everyone of us, its a piece of history. We should treasure it forever. And now, you can scroll through the photos.
